Why Refer to Myofunctional Therapy?
-
Orofacial myofunctional disorders often affect your patients in only one modality you can treat. Collaborative care with myofunctional therapy enables you to address the whole patient. Demonstrating your exceptional overall concern for your patient’s comprehensive wellness.
-
Whether its orthodontic treatment, tonsil/adenoid removal, oral surgery, or CPAP treatment, the origin of the problem is not resolved without myofunctional care. Restoring proper oral rest posture and nasal breathing will assist your patient in achieving post procedural retention, improved compliance, reduced airway complications and better quality of life. We do not act as a replacement for your treatments, we simply compliment them.
-
Patients do not always know what treatments they need. AI and Dr. Google can only lead them so far in this age of (mis)information. Sometimes they wind up in your office after some diligent research. So who wind up in our office need your services to aid in their progress and goal achievement. We are always happy to expand our referral network to provide you with patients in need of your services, just as you have referred to us.
-
Myofunctional therapy is an incredible modality of care with some research behind it. However, it is important to note that in America this field is eminence based and not evidenced based. Access our Dropbox collection of research, reading and articles to learn more.
