What You’ll Learn

  • Understand the role of oral dysfunction in craniofacial development and oral health. Sections on the origins of oral dysfunction, signs clinically and in medical history, and how to assemble to story that paints a full picture to the patient.

  • Explore the various ages and stages of sleep and airway, with sections on infants, toddlers and preschool ages, school age, and adult. Understand the development of oral habits, common complaints, what’s normal, and correlations to what you may see clinically or expressed in medical history.

  • Put the pieces into action with detailed screening, assessment, and documentation protocols. Understand how to implement this clinically in pediatric, adult and special needs populations.

  • Custom develop intermediate treatment plans to triage dental airway and sleep concerns. Understand the treatment planning process, coordination of care, referrals and recommendations, and put it to practice with case samples.

  • Administer intermediate programs with elements of myofunctional therapy, sleep coaching, and health coaching to help patients navigate sleep and airway concerns. Learn how to perform programs for TMJ, sleep hygiene, nasal hygiene, abbreviated myofunctional therapy, and habit elimination.
